In a one room log house, with a side room, ten miles

was born to Lee A. Ward and Maude Isbell Ward. This baby was born August 8,
1909 and was named Yearby for his maternal Grandfather Isbell and Henry for
Grandfather Ward. Yearby was the last baby born in the log house that his
grandfather built and where his father and sister, Mary Ruth, were born.
Yearby went to school at Wright, Dicey and graduated from Springtown High School. Yearby and Mary Ruth rode Old Bob, our horse, to school. We rode without a saddle and rode double until we were too large to ride the same horse; one rode a gentle mule after that.
After high school it’s time for work, Yearby worked for awhile on a ranch; then he worked for the county Commissioner of precinct one, also for Sinclair Pumping Stations. In 1939 Yearby went into bigger things by driving Caterpillar Tractor Machines for Williams Brothers Construction Company.
