HAROLD LEE NICHOLSON
Birth: 25 Jul 1940
Death: 30 Dec 2007
(age 67 yrs, 5 months, 5 days)
Harold L. Nicholson, 67, a wonderful son, father, grandpa Nick, and brother, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial service: at a later date.
Harold was born July 25, 1940, in Brock, the fifth of seven children. He helped his family farm until he graduated and joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Las Vegas, Nev., where he married and Calvin and Danielle were born. He began a career at IBM and retired in 1994. His greatest joy came from his children and 8-year-old triplet grandchildren, Jordan, Ryan and Austin.
After retirement, he moved to Pahrump, Nev., where he enjoyed the beautiful mountains. He always remained close to his beloved family in Texas, calling often and coming home for special events.
His battle with cancer began in 2001, and he received treatment in Nevada, in Houston at M.D. Anderson and in an experimental program. He never gave up or complained and kept his sense of humor even though he had been in a hospital and care center since September 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hood and Ita Nicholson; and brothers, Floyd and Bobby Nicholson.
Survivors: Son, Calvin Nicholson and wife, Tiffany; daughter, Danielle Nicholson; grandchildren, Jordan, Ryan and Austin, all of Reno, Nev.; former wife, Sharleen Nicholson of Arizona; sister-in-law, Anita Nicholson of Weatherford; sisters, Aline Johnston and husband, Kenneth of Grand Prairie, Ina Jean Davis and husband, John of Weatherford, Sharon Zinn and husband, Marion of Fort Worth and Carolyn Nicholson of Grand Prairie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
